Email is life threatening! LOL.
Email is not a phone call or even a text message, so it is not made for immediate response. Email is for responding within 1-2 days, or longer. So don’t feel pressured to have your email open all day! It’s a time waster because it’s a constant interruption to everything you need to do.
Think of it this way: What’s the most urgent emails that you get? How long do you have to respond? If it’s 1 hour, then check your email ONCE PER HOUR. If it’s 12 hours, check it twice a day. Get it?
The key is to schedule your email checking, get in there, do it all, and get out!
For example, if you use email at work, you could do 10:00 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 3:30 pm. (Don’t start with email! Start with something important. More on that later.)
