I was having a conversation this morning with my son, and he basically in a few words summarized the argument of predestination.
We agreed to disagree LOL
He believes that God knows the future.
I believe that the future depends on our choices.
I told him, that removes responsibility. That means that it doesn’t matter what we do, because the future is predetermined.
Then he said, no it’s not. Even though God knows the choices that we are going to make, we are still responsible to make those choices.
At that point, I said, OK.
Does it really matter whether God knows the future or not? What really matters is our willingness to take responsibility for our choices.
What matters is responsibility.
Practical spirituality means moving beyond philosophy and beliefs into reality. If your belief gets you thinking that it doesn’t matter what you do, and you lose even the smallest sense of responsibility, then that’s a limiting belief.
Spirituality = responsibility. Nothing less than full responsibility for love at every moment, full responsibility for every choice, and the intelligent use of the will.
