How To Protect Your Marriage
Human Beings are Sexual Beings
I’m a firm believer that the human race is all one family and that we all need to love each other immensely. At the same time, as human beings we all have an automatic reactive sexual emotional nature that causes us to be emotionally and sexually attracted to nearly everyone of the opposite sex.
Overcoming this emotional sexual automaticity is one thing. Doing so requires discipline in the spiritual life.
You Need to Protect Your Marriage
For the vast majority of us, I do believe that we need to protect our marriage or committed relationship by taking practical steps to avoid simple things like being alone with someone of the opposite sex that is not a family member. The book that has helped me with this, and that I recommend everyone read (especially us married men) is:
Hedges: Loving Your marriage Enough to Protect It.
By Jerry B. Jenkins
I read the Kindle version regularly, it’s like a devotional or constant thing for me that I like to read a little bit daily so that I’m always thinking about it just a little bit, until I create the proper habits that I need to protect my marriage.
Before Being Unfaithful Even a Little Bit, Please Read This Book
My marriage and my children are the most important things in the world to me. With divorce rates over 50% in the United States, it’s devastating for children growing up in broken homes and broken families. We need to learn how to stay married, for our children’s sake at least.
It is a Christian based book, but that’s besides the point. The Christianity is not the main thrust of the book, and we all need to protect our marriages. It should be required reading for all of us!
Peace and Blessings,
Love,
Dr. Moses.
