“Prior Unity” is a short book that emphasizes that all beings are a “prior unity,” always already as One. If I was the president, I’d make it required reading for everyone on the planet!

“Prior Unity” changed my life
This little book is a transformation of mind and thought. I can’t express how powerful it is.
In it, I learned the foundation concepts of what needs to happen on an individual level to deal with the world’s major problems, especially in opening the way for world peace. After reading it, I went to the more thorough and detailed book, Not Two Is Peace, which takes it even farther. But this one is definitely better to read first, it’s an awesome foundation and introduction, and then take it from there.
Part One.
In section I, “The World-Friend, Adi Da” explains in detail the principle of Prior Unity. We are all already and always united as one, so we need to realize and live by that principle in our lives.
In section II, “The History of Dis-Unity”, he talks about the root cause of division between peoples from a historical perspective, the root cause of wars and tribal conflict, and how to get out of all of it.
Part Two
Section III, he teaches about “Cooperative Community.” This is my favorite part of the book, as I would like to take those principles and apply them in my own circles of community. It is powerful! It speaks directly to my heart, and I feel this urge, as I read it, to participate deeply and fully with others in community, playing music together, talking about god together, helping each other, and having deep intimate vulnerable friendships with each other. It’s really really amazing.
In section IV, he talks about corporations, all of us as a global people, responsibility, and the survival of civilization.
Finally, in section V, he introduces the concept of the Global Cooperative Forum, which is the movement that needs to happen for us to avoid the destruction of civilization, and to have world peace. From there, I transitioned to Not Two Is Peace, where he talks about this forum in great detail. But again, I would highly recommend reading Prior Unity first.
I hope you read this book. It is deep, profound, mind changing and world changing.
