The Religious Traditions of Humankind Seek The Divine
There are many religious traditions in the world today- Christianity, Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism are just a few. Each tradition has its own set of stories, books, moral codes, and holidays.
They all approach the Divine, in both similar and in different ways.
Unfortunately, some religious people take their beliefs and decide, “I’m right, and your wrong. I’m good, you’re bad. I have the truth, and you are living in death.” Obviously, this is not a loving and sensitive and compassionate state of mind; it is a puritanical, extreme and judgmental position.
At the root of this wrong and egoic thinking is the illusion of DIVISION.
It’s the illusion that we are all separate, that YOU are separate and different from ME; that because I am right, I am over here- and you are over there- we are separate and divided.
This root illusion is the cause of division, and the beginning of all of the negative consequences of this thinking.
So What?
In it’s mildest form, people judge each other, get angry, argue and fight with each other, and are divided and unloving. They may divorce themselves from family or friends for decades.
In more extreme forms, people hate each other and want to destroy each other. And we can see that happening throughout history, and now, as different religious groups go out killing in the name of “God”.
Should We Ditch All Religion??
So what do we do? Are we to ditch all religion completely? Of course not. True religion, true God-worship must be and should be the center of everyone’s peaceful lives. Otherwise, we center our lives around material things, working, money, food, and pointless pursuits.
So what is the CORRECT approach to the religious life?
In all religion, the only way for it to be GOOD is to internalize and personalize the concepts and to apply it to your own life.
The moment you start judging others or imposing your beliefs on others, or declaring your religion to be better and dominant over all the others, or even creating laws imposing your beliefs on others, you then destroy the true and Loving and Divine purpose of your religious tradition.
Instead, take what you believe and bring it INSIDE, apply it to your own life. Use it to have a personal transformation of heart! Learn to Love better, learn to let go of the ego, and feel closer and closer to Divine Love. Bring it In.
We Are All One
Remember, we are all One, always, always, always and Only One. There is no “other”. There is only One. No “one ” is “other”. “Other” is division. We are always already priorly united as one.
Know it.
Believe It.
Keep it.
One.
